PointMe is built on a "local-first" architecture. We do not require user accounts, we do not maintain a centralized user database, and we do not track your identity. Your data belongs on your device, not our servers.
The App requires access to your Precise Geolocation to enable core features like arrival detection and venue navigation.
Your venue history, preferences, and "Points" are stored exclusively in your device’s local storage. We cannot access, see, or recover this data. Deleting the App or clearing its cache will permanently erase this information.
When the App interacts with third-party APIs (like Mapbox), standard internet metadata—such as your IP address and device model—is transmitted to the provider to fulfill the request. This is a standard requirement for internet communication.
We do not sell your personal data. Because we do not collect your data on our servers, there is no database to sell or share with advertisers, data brokers, or third parties. We do not engage in cross-app tracking.
PointMe is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect or process data from children under 13. Furthermore, access to age-restricted content (e.g., bars/nightlife) is limited to users 21+ based on system-level age signals where available.
Under laws like the CCPA/CPRA and GDPR, you have the right to access and delete your data. PointMe fulfills these rights by design: Since all your data is stored locally, you exercise your "Right to Delete" by simply deleting the App from your device. You exercise your "Right to Access" by viewing your history within the App interface.
Your data is protected by the native security features of your iOS/Android device (e.g., FaceID, Passcode, and your device’s Sandbox architecture). We recommend keeping your device software updated to ensure the best security for your local data.
